National Testing Agency announced JEE Main examination results; 15 students across India score 100%

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) (JEE Main and the JEE Advanced) are engineering entrance examinations conducted for admission to various engineering colleges in India.

On Saturday National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the name of the 15 students across India who scored 100 percentile in the JEE Main examination conducted during January 8-12, 2019.

This is the first time scores were announced and not JEE Main rank. “Ranks would be declared after the 2nd JEE to be held in April 2019. For the first time students have chance to improve their performance” tweets Prakash Javdekar, HRD minister.

“Nearly 8.75 lakh students took the exam. 15 students are in the 100th percentile. Congratulations to all students who did well. For the first time, NTA has used the percentile based scoring. This is more scientific and used in best exam world over,” tweets Prakash Javdekar, HRD minister.

The JEE-Main examination, is for admission to the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and some other colleges designated as “centrally funded technical institutes” (CFTIs). The JEE-Advanced examination, is for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Only the students selected in JEE Mains are eligible for appearing in JEE Advanced.
