Macrame is an art of creating a beautiful piece or textile with knots.

The etymology of the word Macrame can be traced back to Arabic word – miqrama meaning bedspread, Turkish word makrama meaning tablecloth or towel and in French – macrame.

Some of the primary knots of macrame are Square knot, half hitch knot, Lark heads knot and gathering knot. With these basic knot, one can learn to make a beautiful plant hanger.
