One day, my 2-year old son hurt his finger while closing the window, although I had asked him to be careful. After he hurt himself, next time whenever he tried to close any window or door or fridge he was extremely careful. That is intelligence. Intelligence is what makes human species so special. The English word intelligence derives from the Latin nouns intelligentia or intellēctus, which in turn stem from the verb intelligere, to comprehend or perceive.
So what is artificial intelligence? Computer or any digital medium programmed intelligently so it can comprehend or perceive just like humans do. In present day, almost everyone unconsciously have experienced with one or the other form of artificial intelligence(AI) technology.
Children, to understand practically how AI works, take your parents smart phone and talk to Siri iOS or Genie in Andriod. It is programmed with such minute details that it responds just like another human being.
Interacting with an AI device has become a trend setter now. Apart from Siri, Amazon has launched Alexa, Microsoft has Cortana, and Google has the new and refreshed Google Assistant.
Going ahead, while talking to the computers and phones, will we forget to talk to our fellow human beings?
